Job Summary and Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to drive revenue by selling products and services specifically to State Health Agencies with growing area demands and business needs of public sector, and to play a key role in business development, sales and generating, qualifying, and closing new business for the company in our target markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities in the State Health agencies through existing relationships, cold calling attending industry trade shows, working with business partners, and providing product demonstrations
  • Develop, drive, and mature a set of key top opportunities such that an annual signings goals are achieved
  • Become intimately familiar with the suite of government health products and services
  • Aggressively work each opportunity with thorough, complete, and repetitive customer meetings to ensure proposal demonstrates understanding of the customer's objectives, their challenges, their environment, and their budget
  • Work closely with the Capture Team and support the processes outline in the capture lifecycle
  • Provide monthly opportunity/pipeline updates to Leadership
  • Develop winning sales strategies by leading and working in a team-oriented selling environment that includes delivery, business consultants, subject matter experts, and management
  • Develop and deliver client-facing presentations
  • Work as a key part of the proposal development team, including anticipating how market and competitive factors will influence the selling of offerings and services and contribute to documents
  • Establish and maintain the best possible long-term relationship with each prospect and customer to maximize future revenue opportunities. Included are meaningful business relationships with "C" level government executives

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a field of Business or related subject (equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree)
  • 12+ years' experience of progressive and broad base executive sales/business development
  • Understanding of public health programs and issues, Health Information Technology (IT) programs, and business process outsourcing programs within the target agencies
  • Experience with Government health and human services agencies, such as Medicaid, Medicare programs, claims processing, payments, etc.
  • management of large-scale contract bids, negotiations, and client relations
  • Extensive experience selling to multi-divisional, inter-agency teams, and "C" level buyers (CEO, CIO, CFO, Department Directors, etc.)
  • Proven track record of signing new business opportunities with government agencies

    Knowledge of contract vehicles, government process and procurement, and lobbying compliance in health and human services
