Job Summary |
Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, this advancement leadership position is responsible for the visionary leadership, strategic management, and operational execution of all advancement information systems and processes. This includes database management (Blackbaud Raiser's Edge
NXT), gift processing, prospect research, and data reporting and analysis to support alumni engagement, fundraising, and donor stewardship. |
Salary Range |
$65,000-$75,000. This is the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary offered will depend on a candidate's experience and education, and departmental budget. |
Essential Functions |
- Leads, coaches, and manages the advancement services staff responsible for gift entry, database management, prospect research, and data retrieval. This includes establishing, monitoring, and evaluating performance goals and outcomes and observing, inspiring, and mentoring staff.
- Maintains, manages, and optimizes the University's Raiser's Edge database and configuration to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Leads the analysis and documentation of Institutional Advancement processes and sets priorities for Advancement Services.
- Maintains high data standards for constituent/donor records and manages data imports/exports, data entry, and gift processing to support fundraising effectiveness.
- Serves as the first line of support for technical needs, troubleshoots issues, and engages external support when needed. Partners with Information Services to support technology-related issues.
- Stays up to date on the latest Raiser's Edge features propose enhancements to optimize use recommend procedural improvements internally.
- Serves as a source of training for the Office of Institutional Advancement and provide coverage for advancement services staff.
- With the Vice President, creates and evaluates the Office of Institutional Advancement's metrics and strategies and helps develop data-driven goals and plans.
- Creates and distributes the department's internal and external quantitative fundraising reports to view and monitor progress toward goals. Ensures systems and processes are aligned for accurate, consistent, and timely data reporting.
- Designs queries, custom reports, and dashboard views for engagement events, fundraising appeals, and stewardship efforts.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Office of Institutional Advancement, including the use and maintenance of the Institutional Advancement data, gift acceptance and agreements, and office operations.

Other Duties and Responsibilities |
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
- A bachelor's degree.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in advancement services, information systems, or data management.
- Extensive experience with computerized systems of donor recordkeeping and data-tracking of prospects and donors, preferably Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office software and familiarity with appropriate fundraising tools.
- Knowledge of governmental and non-profit accounting procedures and applicable tax laws, the fundraising process, and the concept of donor relations.
- Experience in personnel management.
- Ability to apply and leverage technology to build the capacity of an Institutional Advancement department.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Excellent analytical, inquisitive, and communication skills, including strong written and verbal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest professional and ethical standards.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements |
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. |
