Position Summary

Manager SAP Financial Applications provides consolidated operational, maintenance, and technical support for several CPS Energy's ERP business functional capabilities within Financial Services including General Accounting, Revenue & Fuel Accounting, Financial Accounting & External Reporting, Property Plant Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Banking & Investment Management, and Corporate Budgeting.

Critical financial systems' support includes SymPro, JPMorgan Host-to-Host, SAP Finance (FI) module, SAP Controlling (CO) module, SAP Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Redwood Software's Financial Close Automation (FCA), SAP Project Systems (PS) modules, SAP Materials Management (MM) module, SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), and Compliance Reporting (CMO). Other technical platform support includes Access, Oracle & APEX databases; SAP GUI & Winshuttle scripts; Excel Workbooks and macros; Visual Basic (VB), Python, and SQL programming languages. Also provide technical reporting support in various platforms such as SAP ERP, BI, Crystal Reports, and Tableau.

Provide leadership to the Financial Information Systems with responsibilities for providing the Financial Services Business Unit end-to-end operational, maintenance, and technical support including but not limited to system administration, financial roles custodianship, Financial Services Systems & Business Process partner to EIT coordinating new financial related system developments, implementations, enhancements, new releases, upgrades, and required DUT & Acceptance testing. Also provides leadership related to financial system architecture and financial master data governance and provides services to enhance and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Financial Services customer service & its related products and services.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Lead data and technology strategy development with Financial Services Executive Leadership.

Manage Financial Information Systems team that provides Financial Services end-to-end support functions covering Finance & Controlling, Accounts Payable & Receivables, Budgeting & Financial Planning, Materials Mgmt, and Project Systems among others.

Identify opportunities & lead Financial Services' financial information system and technology initiatives resulting in effectiveness & efficiency gains and a stronger internal control environment.

Leads the oversight and management of Financial Services Master Data used in internal and external financial reporting. To include data structure, governance including continuous updates to the Financial Services Financial Master Data Governance document, and opportunities to tighten and enhance the Internal Control Environment.

Leads collaborative partnerships with EIT, security and external stakeholders for implementation or maintenance of financial systems.

Lead alignment with the Enterprise Application team

Partner with Enterprise Data Governance team to develop a Corporate Master Data Governance Strategy

Provide leadership, coordination and communication for Financial Services related technical production issues and follow-up problem management to ensure root cause is quickly identified and permanently remediated.

Partners with cross functional application analysts, middleware support, and business unit teams to design and develop solutions based on business requirements or resolve work stoppage and/or production posting issues/errors.

Coordinate, collaborate & partner with other cross-functional EIT groups to ensure maximum financial system optimization, system compliance and user acceptance testing and validation of SAP financial systems application configuration changes, enhancements, release roll-out and upgrades.

As a people Manger, role is responsible for communicating expectations, monitoring team performance, providing continuous coaching feedback, completing performance reviews, mentoring and development of direct reports, evaluating staff levels and recruiting, performance feedback and corrective action. Ensure quality service and on-time delivery of team's work effort.

Responsible for managing the daily operational aspects of Financial Services' system applications. Support, prioritize and assign work to the appropriate team member(s). Monitor progress and communicate work changes. Ensure work is aligned to team technical and functional expertise.

Work on multiple concurrent projects, meet business expectations, influence outcomes and maintain stated timelines.

Document Area's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for business continuity, risk mitigation, on-boarding of new team members, and continuous development of existing team members.

Develop & maintain a high performing team through development plans & collaboration.

Create a highly engaged & service-oriented organization.

Assist in the development & management of budgeting & finances.

Manage area purchasing, capital & O&M budgets.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Experience in Information Technology Applications management.
Experience in providing business support services for an SAP ERP financial computing environment or similar computing environment.
Cross-functional data knowledge of SAP core modules such as Finance and Controlling (FI/CO), Contract Account Receivables and Payable (FICA), Project Systems (PS) etc.
Working experience with multi-tier application architecture and design.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
Leadership experience through formal supervisory experience or informally through directing the work of a junior colleague or through significant peer leadership experience.
Foundational understanding of financial principles, financial statements and other applicable business operations.
Assertive self-starter, with ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, with a high degree of accuracy and ability to handle and/or manage sensitive and confidential information.
Evidence of strong planning and organization skills, essential for managing multiple tasks and large-scale projects of the section while ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Excellent organizational, analytical, planning, multi-tasking, negotiation, problem-solving, verbal, written, interpersonal & communicational skills.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field from an accredited university or have extensive expertise, certifications & demonstrated experience.
