SUMMARY

The Junior Data Engineer enhances our IT team's capabilities in integration, analytics, and automation. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing systems integrations and data solutions that directly support our company's growth objectives. Key responsibilities include developing our integrations and data infrastructure, optimizing data processes, data pipelines, and translating complex data into actionable insights for decision-making. This position requires technical expertise in data engineering and the ability to align technical solutions with business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Integrations: Assist in designing, developing, and support scalable data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Automation: Assist in implementing automation and data processing frameworks that streamline data operations.
  • Operations: Optimize data systems and infrastructure for speed, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Maintenance: Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of existing systems integrations, ensuring data quality and security.
  • Requirements: Assist in the translation of complex business requirements into actionable technical data solutions.
  • APIs: Design, build, and maintain APIs to enable data integration, and access across multiple systems and applications.
  • Security: Ensure security practices are followed and comply with regulatory standards and policies.
  • Must be able to understand and translate business requirements into data and technical requirements.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both in verbal and written form; must have the ability to influence and demonstrate confidence in communications with senior level management, and the ability to understand and translate business requirements into data and technical requirements.


  • Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public.
  • Must be able to lead a team effectively through times of change, especially change which arises from company growth.
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, applied mathematics, or a similar field (preferred)
  • 1+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, API Developer, or similar role.


  • Preferred:



      • Experience with Reporting Tools: Knowledge of reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau.
      • CDATA tools Experience: Proficiency with CDATA tools for data integration, connectivity, and transformation across various data sources.







SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Proficiency in T-SQL and MS SSIS
  • Experience in developing with APIs (REST and GraphQL)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Frequently lift and/or move IT equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
