The Department of Finance & Procurement is responsible for ensuring that the county's financial management and accounting systems are maintained appropriately and that county agencies and the public receive information in a timely manner. The Division of Accounting, Finance and Operations manages internal auditing and compliance, financial accounting, financial and budgetary reporting, internal controls, payroll, and accounts payable.

Job Summary

The Division of Accounting, Finance and Operations is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a full-time Accounts Payable Accounting Technician II. This position will report to the Accountant III and will be responsible for reviewing, auditing and approving all supplier invoices against their backup documents for accuracy before payment in the Oracle System, researching and responding to inquiries, and auditing employee reimbursements to adhere to County, State and Federal guidelines. This position will also perform month end close cleanup and research invoices to ensure accurate 1099 coding. Additional responsibilities include researching, collaborating cross departmentally on issues, and preparing work papers and analysis to support the annual audit, as well as processing returned checks from the USPS, and contributing to other department areas as needed or assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks. Collaboration is key, as this position will work closely with a variety of team members to achieve common goals. The ability to cultivate relationships, both internally and externally, will drive success in this role. Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and combination of education and experience in accounting or finance equivalent to four (4) years of related work experience, preferably in a government accounting setting. Experience working with a major ERP system such as Oracle is preferred.
