The Security Analyst internship is designed to enable learning and personal development for those that have a passion to pursue a career in Information Security. As an Intern working in the information security department, you will work with a team to apply your knowledge and gain experience with one or more of the following: Outcomes and Activities: Participate in either the Threat Vulnerability Management or Identity Access Management Program and provide necessary support to enhance the security of business applications and security platforms. Contribute to identifying areas for improvement and work with the team to set goals for future enhancements. Contribute to information security policies, standards, procedures, playbooks and other documentation as needed to improve information security capabilities. Create a defined set of metrics and dashboards to demonstrate the effectiveness of security controls and security team operations. Participate in security architecture reviews and exception approval processes. Generate security related artifacts as needed to meet internal and external compliance requirements. Keep abreast of industry and technology threats to guide security decisions. Requirements: Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree with a related field of study (e.g., Computer Science, IT, Cyber-Security). Conceptual understanding of cyber security principles, tools such as Privileged Access Management, EDR, Query searches Experience working in a team environment Preferred: Experience using cyber security systems and products Experience in system administration or help desk Proficiency in one or more of the following--Java, Python, XML, HTML, C#, Objective C; database design & development including SQL Knowledge and Skills: Show initiative and the desire to learn new technologies Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a proven ability to think outside the box. Be introspective and open to feedback to continuously improve; prioritize personal development and identify potential barriers Ability to communicate technical information (both verbal and written) Knowledge of least privilege and risk management concepts. Knowledge of information security policies and procedures.
