Position Overview

The HR Coordinator is a people focused, detail-oriented individual that helps provide a positive team member experience at McAdams. This individual will assist with building efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations. The coordinator will work on assignments requiring problem solving capabilities, change agility, a positive attitude, and attention to detail. We are currently looking for an individual to fill this role in a part-time capacity with around 20-25 hours per week. Continue reading to learn more about key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities



  • Provide excellent customer service to internal clients.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team.
  • Working closely with Talent Acquisition, HR, and other departments to assist with onboarding new employees, to include managing necessary pre-hire screenings, coordinating preparation with hiring managers, scheduling orientations, scheduling timely processing and completion of I-9s, and other tasks associate with creating a positive and impactful onboarding experience.
  • Complete various administrative tasks such as setting appointments and arranging meetings, compiling reports and spreadsheets, maintain human resource information system (HRIS), and ensure all personnel transactions are documented and properly filed and/or entered in the system.
  • Assist employees and managers with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with data entry into a variety of HR programs.
  • Assist with employment verifications and reference checks.
  • Assist with planning and executing a variety of employee engagement activities.
  • Update and maintain employee benefits, employment status, and other confidential records.
  • Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
  • Assist HR team with government/regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Assist HR team with various research projects and special projects.
  • Performs quality checks on documents to ensure formatting, grammar, and content accuracy.
  • Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as necessary.
  • Coordinate with vendors for events and project needs as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Skills + Experience



  • Previous experience in an administrative and/or human resource related work environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with friendly and professional demeanor
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in computer software programs - Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible and to grow professionally through development and training activities
  • Willingness and ability to demonstrate ethical behavior and support McAdams' philosophy and values

  • Work will primarily be in an office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing, and grasping often with repetitive motion.
  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
