Responsibilities

As a Senior Research Analyst:
    Spearhead the technical literacy of critical DOD technology areas for the Joint Acquisition Protection and Exploitation Cell (JAPEC) within DOD's OUSD Research & Engineering (R&E) sector.
  • Understand and relay the scope, status and ecosystem of two or more DOD critical technology areas; become the go-to expert in these elected domains in alignment with the DOD mission.
  • Serve as an integrator of classified intelligence products and open-source research literature to inform next steps and key operations of DOD's partner organizations.
  • Research cutting edge science as it relates to intelligence reporting, acting to synthesize a comprehensive view for JAPEC leadership.
  • Proactively identify breakthrough technology for novel or sustained military systems, as well as the potential to technology convergence.
  • Collaborate across multiple interagency teams to fortify America's approach to safeguarding science and next generation technology.
  • Crosswalk adversary technology status with our nation's current research cadence and progress.
  • Performs research, collection and collation of data from studies.
  • Responsible for the compilation of data, and preparation of inputs into larger reports.
  • Performs assessments and projections as part of analysis process.
  • Analyzes factors and components of complex systems to recommend and institute changes to increase efficiency.
  • Plans studies of work problems and procedures, such as organizational changes, communication, information flow, integrated production methods, or cost analysis.
  • Recommends improvements of modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters.
  • Examines and analyzes current and contemplated operations for developing, defining, and coordinating user requirements which will satisfy the total program need.
  • Translates user requirements into system specifications, configuration management plans, life cycle management documentation, and integrated logistics support plans and related operational summaries.
  • Writes specifications manuals and user documentation for client or user personnel.
  • Gathers information from users, defines work problems, and designs a system and procedures to resolve problems.
  • May be assigned responsibility for the management of the function, including associated staff.


Qualifications

  • MS or Higher Degree required in a STEM field (consult DOD critical technology list), with 8-10 years of experience.
  • Background in STEM, preferred experience with Quantum, Hypersonics, PNT, or Cyber


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $155,700.00/Yr. - USD $260,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
