Overview |
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Students also have access to a robust program of applied research and outreach hosted by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station laboratories, farms, business incubators, and marine stations throughout the state. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Sr Program Administrator
SPVR (Environmental Planning) for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Responsible for developing and managing a variety of programs, initiatives, and activities that support the RCE Water Resources Program mission.
- Provides leadership in developing, delivering, coordinating, and managing a robust student internship program that employs undergraduate students in full-time summer employment and part-time employment during the school year.
- Assesses priorities for green stormwater infrastructure and watershed management grant deliverables and Extension programming, provide recommendations for assigning staff and students to projects and programs, ensure staff allocations are within approved project budgets, identify tasks that could be given to subcontractors to help better produce deliverables in a timely-fashion, and overseeing the work of subcontractors and assigned staff.
- Identifies potential project partners for Extension programming activities and developing relationships with these partners to establish a collective collaborative framework that can expand the reach of the RCE Water Resources Program to optimize short-term and long-term measurable impact for the residents of New Jersey and our regional stakeholders.

Minimum Education and Experience |
- Requires a bachelor's degree in environmental planning & design or equivalent and five years of experience.

Certifications/Licenses |
- Must have a valid New Jersey Driver's License.
|
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Must have strong writing, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite is required.
- Must have strong project management skills to include strong problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to work independently, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to engage in self-directed learning to develop new skills to address evolving project activities.
- Ability to work effectively with guidance and instruction but without needing constant direct supervision.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to customer service are essential qualities.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating and implementing innovative programs that have a positive impact on the residents of New Jersey.
- Requires a working knowledge in identifying green stormwater infrastructure opportunities, watershed management, best management practice design and implementation, and outreach education.

Preferred Qualifications |
- A master's degree in environmental planning, public administration, or equivalent is preferred.
- Eight to ten years of relevant experience is preferred.
