We are looking for a data-driven storyteller to join our marketing team at Forage - helping us uncover compelling insights from our student data and turning them into engaging content and actionable reports. This role sits at the intersection of data analysis, content creation and marketing strategy, supporting both our student marketing and enterprise partner success teams.

As a Data Reporter, you'll analyze internal and external data sources to:

  • Support our customer success team by providing clear, data-backed reports that demonstrate ROI to our employer partners.
  • Create compelling data-driven stories that fuel Forage's thought leadership, PR efforts, and industry credibility.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-growing, mission-driven company, alongside a passionate team, with the chance to influence how we use data to drive engagement, storytelling, and business impact.

This role may be based in Washington, DC; Richmond, VA; or remotely within the continental United States.

Primary Responsibilities:

Data analysis and reporting

  • Develop a deep understanding of Forage proprietary data and provide insights to marketing and customer success teams
  • Collect, clean, interpret and/or combine data from internal sources, surveys, public data and/or other relevant sources
  • Create compelling visualizations, charts, and reports to make complex data more digestible and engaging.
  • Support the customer success team by preparing data-driven reports that demonstrate program impact and ROI to employer partners.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven storytelling, exploring new ways to use data in marketing and communication efforts.

Email and marketing analytics

  • Monitor email performance metrics (CTOR, open rates, conversions, deliverability, etc.)
  • Write data-backed email copy that drives engagement and conversion
  • Optimize segmentation, automation, and personalization strategies to improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Conduct A/B testing and campaign analysis to inform future marketing strategies.

Data-driven storytelling

  • Identify compelling trends and insights from our student and industry data to create 3-4 engaging stories per month.
  • Work with PR and content teams to pitch data-driven stories to media outlets.
  • Act as a data expert and spokesperson, representing Forage in select media interviews when needed.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and proactively pitch data insights that contribute to Forage's thought leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience
  • Proven background and work experience in data reporting or data journalism
  • Proven experience uncovering compelling stories within large or complex data sets
  • Familiarity with at least one data analysis tool, including Excel, SQL, Python and/or R
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, especially Sigma and Heap is a bonus
  • Excellent written communication and creative thinking skills
  • Experience working in an email marketing platform, preferably Acquia Campaign Studio
  • Understanding of segmentation, automation, and email best practices
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing and campaign optimization
  • Track record of delivering strong business results
  • Knowledge or interest in the education and careers space
