Position Title: Finishing
Wage: $16.00-$16.90/Hour Shift: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Monday-Friday) Reached a dead end at your current job? Finishing Responsibilities: - Responsible for placing paper jackets on finished books - Examine stitched, collated, bound, and unbound product samples for defects such as imperfect bindings, ink spots, torn or loose pages, and loose and uncut threads - Feed Related articles such as periodicals and pamphlets into binding machines following specifications - Fill machine paper feeds - Clean work areas by ensuring all scrap is picked up - Open machines and remove and replace damaged covers and books, using hand tools - Remove printed material or finished products from machines or conveyors, wrap products in plastic, and stack them on pallets, skids, or boxes - Feed covers, signatures, and sheets into various machines for collating, stitching, trimming, folding, rulings taping, roughing, indexing, and perforating Requirements for Finishing: - Standing for long periods, up to 12 hours - Occasionally lift to 40 pounds - Must be able to bend, twist, grasp, and pinch with hands repetitively - Must be dependable, reliable, willing to work and learn - Must be able to follow directions - Must be able to perform good hand-eye coordination - Basic math skills; ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiplication or division with 10's and 100's QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
