POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Career Ventures, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has a future opportunity for a Driver Training Range Supervisor- Student Support Servicesto support operations at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Artesia, New Mexico. FLETC hosts approximately 88 participating agencies and provides core law enforcement training programs. The facility includes on-site housing for up to 1,800 students and employs around 500 staff. The selected candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and managing training vehicles and supporting range operations.

This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections:



  • Prepare clear and concise work orders explaining required vehicle repairs.
  • Perform operator-level maintenance on training vehicles, including fluid replacement, tire changes, and windshield wiper replacements.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure vehicles are operational and meet training requirements.
  • Assist the auto shop in maintaining vehicles and ensuring they are available for training use.


Testing & Evaluation:



  • Test-drive training vehicles post-repair to verify proper operation and ensure all repairs are completed effectively.
  • Evaluate mechanical and operational issues and provide feedback for continuous improvements.


Range & Equipment Support:



  • Perform vehicle setup and cleanup for training exercises.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide logistical support for vehicle training activities.


Compliance & Safety:



  • Ensure compliance with the FLETC-OAO Hazardous Waste Management Plan, including Hazardous Waste Satellite Accumulation Area and Universal Hazardous Waste management responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all FLETC safety protocols, reporting any issues or risks promptly.


Pay Range:$18.00 to $25.00 hourly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in vehicle operations, fleet management, or automotive maintenance support (not a mechanical role).
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to prepare detailed and accurate work orders for vehicle service needs.
  • Proficiency in conducting vehicle safety inspections, identifying maintenance needs (e.g., fluid levels, tire conditions, windshield wipers), and coordinating repairs with mechanics.
  • Experience in operator-level maintenance (e.g., checking and replacing fluids, tire changes, basic troubleshooting).
  • Possess a valid operator's license in the State of New Mexico.
  • Current certification to operate the following vehicles and equipment (certifications must be on file at the contractor's office):

    • Forklift (6-ton capacity)
    • Tow truck (with a vehicle in tow)
    • All-terrain vehicles (ATV/UTV)
