Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for an Assistant Controller to join our team located at our Racine manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will have experience in these key areas:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or degree in a relevant field
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is preferred
  • A minimum of five years' experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment


Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (JD Edwards)
  • Advanced Excel skills


Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communications skills to communicate information and present issues in a clear and concise manner to all levels of management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including consensus building and teaching/coaching ability.


Technical Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed and maintain detailed records and documentation for audit purposes.

  • Assist in the preparation, analysis, and review of the annual business plan, LRP, capital plan, and operational forecasts.
  • Oversee and actively work with the General and Manufacturing Accountants.
  • Analyze financial results and provide guidance to management as appropriate. Produce reports as necessary.
  • Review and assist in the preparation of capital expenditure requests. Perform audits comparing actual results to projections for significant implemented projects.
  • Provide necessary financial support for cost reduction efforts.
  • Special projects as required.
