We have an exceptional summer internship opportunity for a top performing rising/graduated junior, senior or graduate student interested in a career in healthcare fraud investigation. Located in our Dallas, TX office, this internship is for 8 weeks, 40 hours per week beginning June 9. The hourly wage is $17.75.

The intern will work with our Investigations team engaged in the detection and investigation of fraud, waste, and abuse in healthcare. The internship may include but is not limited to:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Works with the team to prioritize complaints for investigation, and then investigates, conducts interviews and reviews information to make potential fraud determination.

* Determines investigation or case appropriateness of fraud, waste and abuse issues in accordance with pre-established criteria.

* Conducts interviews of witnesses, informants, and subject area experts and targets of investigations.

* Identifies and collects information to support the an investigation

* Drafts investigation reports and promotes effective and efficient investigations.

* Works with data to understand healthcare claims

* Prepares and presents a final report.

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

* Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the team to which he/she is assigned.

* Ability to grasp and adapt to changes in procedure and process.

* Ability to effectively resolve complex issues.

* Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and other programs.

Required Experience

  • Rising / Graduated Senior or Graduate Student in one of the following fields:

    • Criminal Justice
    • Criminology
    • Psychology
    • Business Administration
    • Or Related Field


  • Intermediate level ability to use Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
