We Require
Three years of experience working with animals in a veterinary hospital, humane society, or another animal facility (may include volunteer work) One year experience in a supervisor role High school diploma or GED A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Bachelor's degree in Animal Welfare, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field Fear-Free Certification
Job Contributions
Conduct supervisory duties, including recruiting, scheduling, performance management, feedback, and managing complaints Provide coaching to employees to correct performance deficiencies and implement corrective action and performance improvement procedures Train, monitor, and deliver care activities to ensure the highest level of care for animals in the facility, including cleaning, pet monitoring, feeding, etc. Deliver the highest level of customer service to customers, volunteers, and key stakeholders, ensuring their team delivers to the same standard Build relationships and gain the trust of other animal welfare organizations and members of the public Conduct routine audits to ensure proper safety protocols, disease management, proper sanitation, and service delivery are being delivered to remain in compliance with ACC standard operation procedures and ensure legal compliance Maintain detailed and accurate records providing reports as necessary Work with the ACC Leadership team to review and update policies and procedures
Working Conditions
Must be flexible and able to work all shifts which include starting as early as 5 am and finishing as late as 7 pm, working weekends, and holidays, determined by the needs of the Department Work is predominately performed in an animal shelter with exposure to extreme and varying temperatures, excessive noise, dogs and cats with unknown temperaments or behaviors, animal waste and fluids, deceased animals, cleaning chemicals, and zoonotic diseases While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on all types of surfaces that are sometimes slippery, uneven, and rough. Must be able to lift up to 50-100 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly
