In this position you will provide construction inspection and be a Senior Inspection representative on civil works projects for clients such as State and Federal governments. The candidate will work in the construction site environment where projects may range from large scale multi-year civil works programs to water control structures and pump station renovations. Over the last two decades, WGI has been involved in some of Florida's largest and most complex projects and have recently been branching out to all corners of the US. Responsibilities

    Provide construction inspection, ensuring the work is installed in accordance with the contract documents and approved shop drawings
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and take photographs of work in progress to verify work completed.
  • Verify pay applications with contractor, project manager and client for compliance with the contract documents.
  • Communicate with project managers, contractor, and client representatives to confirm compliance with the scope of the construction contract
  • Evaluate the work of contractor staff and provide feedback and/or recommendations based on client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Take the lead in developing construction inspection approaches and concepts on assigned projects and request assistance from available technical staff when needed.
  • Assist the WGI Construction Manager and clients in review of contractor submittals and RFIs.
  • Coordinate with local jurisdictional authorities, utility owners, and municipalities to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards. Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDEP and BMPs and contractors permits and Safety plan.
  • Communicate information from field meetings to the WGI Construction Manager
  • Assist division managers in the execution of technical training programs for staff.
  • Support the management of client relationships and expectations.
  • Act as a mentor to the professional development of junior level staff.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college preferred, but not required.
  • State of Florida Certified PE, PG, GC Professional Required
  • Site civil and/or utility (water and sewer) construction or inspection experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and web browser applications.
  • Working knowledge of e-Builder preferred
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 preferred
  • Knowledge of construction means and methodologies.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent written and verbal skills; and
  • Ability to mentor junior level and mid-level staff.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
