Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. - Centers for Disease Control, Chamblee, Georgia

Minimum Experience: 2 years

Pay: $85,000+ Annual Base Salary (Fringe - $10.99 per hour for healthcare and welfare benefits and/or 401(k) contributions)

Hours: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm (Monday through Friday: some weekends and Holidays required. Must be available 24/7/365.)

Job Description




  • Must be able to plan, assign and supervise the work of trades personnel, maintenance mechanics, and willing to participate in the more difficult maintenance tasks. Estimates time and material required for proposed jobs; keeps records and submits requisition forms for supplies and materials. Candidates must be knowledgeable of the occupational hazards and appropriate safety rules and regulations applicable to maintenance work and building operations. Candidates must demonstrate computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Access. Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systems (BAS) preferred.


    The candidate must possess at least 2 years of experience either directly supervising personnel or as a work group leader or trade lead directing personnel responsible for accomplishment of similar operations, maintenance and repair work of equal or greater complexity. The candidate must possess at least 8 years of recent experience in buildings of at least the similar size (200k sqft) and characteristics of the building to be operated and maintained. This includes but is not limited to experience in accomplishing preventive maintenance management and repairs to the following types of systems with similar rated capacities: low and high pressure chiller plants, package HVAC equipment in the 5 to 50 ton range, low pressure boilers, computerized fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency generators, high voltage switchgear, computerized CMMS systems and computerized building automation systems. Experience in troubleshooting and repairing DDC control systems in office and laboratory environments preferred.


Illustrative Tasks



  • Plans, assigns and supervises maintenance personnel in a variety of duties, which includes plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical, refrigeration and other related maintenance work.
  • Personally performs the more skilled tasks as necessitated by workload.
  • Assists Building Coordinators and Campus Manager in planning and implementing work projects and work methods.
  • Estimates time and materials required for proposed jobs; keeps records and submits requisition forms for supplies and materials.
  • Determines manpower needs for maintenance repairs and assigns work accordingly.
  • Completes performance reports on subordinates and conducts a continuous training program for maintenance personnel.
  • Assigns and tracks work in CDC's IFMS systems and is responsible for tracking employee training in FSE Training Tracker and employee's time in Time Clock Plus.


Abilities/Skills/Knowledge Required by the Position



  • Experienced in the operation and repair of laboratory exhaust systems, HEPA filtration systems, Ultra-low refrigeration (cascade systems).
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems including control systems.
  • Experience shall be in buildings of at least 350k square feet. Considerable knowledge of building and equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and appropriate safety rules and regulations applicable to maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and practices of several of the building and mechanical trades.
  • Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of subordinates in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with a minimum of technical supervision.
  • Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
  • Knowledgeable of EEO laws.
