Job Summary
The Senior Business Financial Analyst, Logistics develops and prepares complex financial and operational analysis, budgeting, and reporting in support of operational planning, profitability optimization, and identification of opportunities to achieve divisional goals and objectives.
Primary Objectives
- Provide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for Logistics operations to drive cost optimization and efficiency.
- Collaborate with business unit leadership and Corporate Finance teams to deliver financial insights, assess operational performance, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by analyzing expenses, monitoring key performance indicators, and evaluating process improvements.
- Support divisional projects and strategic initiatives by conducting financial assessments, evaluating revenue opportunities, and ensuring financial viability of proposals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with divisional leadership and Finance team to develop budgets and forecasts for logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution costs.
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis of cost drivers and identify areas of opportunity for cost reduction.
- Participate in the development, reporting, and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) including, but not limited to, delivery times, inventory levels, and freight costs to assess divisional performance.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations to highlight performance trends, areas of concern, budget variances, and opportunities for improved profitability.
- Collaborate with business unit and operational management teams to identify operational challenges, analyze impacts, and provide financial insights to inform decision-making.
- Evaluate financial viability and develop pricing strategies for new or expanded initiatives, including capital expenditure proposals.
- Provide analysis of cost and revenue impacts of new or changing logistics partners, providers, or technology solutions.
- Identify, analyze, and report on cost variances compared to budget.
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs.
- Support analysis of transportation routes and carrier performance to identify potential cost savings.
- Oversee and monitor accurate and timely coding, submission, reconciliation and reporting of all related tasks and processes.
- Develop, recommend, and implement process controls and process improvements to ensure financial and operational reporting consistency and adherence to established enterprise policy and procedures.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in finance or directly-related field required
Work Experience
- 5+ years' experience in a Financial Planning and Analysis or similar position required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of operational budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of transportation and logistics operations and key performance metrics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to analyze information to develop a conceptual understanding of the meaning of a range of information.
- Ability to use disciplined approach for verification of facts, utilizing compatible information resources to confirm reasonability and accuracy.
- Proficiency with a variety of data analysis and reporting tools, timekeeping software, and financial management systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products at the following levels: * Word, Outlook: Basic level of skill * PowerPoint: Intermediate level of skill * Excel, including PowerPivot: Advance level of skill

Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.
Zone 2: Starting rate $100,000; up to $130,000 for highly qualified candidates
This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment. Annual Incentive Opportunity: 10% of eligible compensation
