Your Impact
As a Technical Leader, Software Engineer, you'll join an agile team engaged in the design, development and testing data-center features set in Cisco 8000 Platform using SONiC network operating system. In this role you'll:
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the broader SONiC Group
  • Give technical inputs to the team on Infrastructure, Manageability and distributed systems design and implementation
  • Guide team members technically, participate in the architecture discussions and code reviews
  • Own deliverables schedule and track progress of the projects
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management and security
  • Be a role model of company culture and values
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field of study with 12 + years of relevant work experience or a master's degree with 8 + years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with distributed systems, control plane software, QoS or device management software.
  • Experience with software development languages such as C/C++, or Python.
  • Working experience with networking protocols such as, TCP/IPv4/IPv6, L2/L3 routing and switching, ARP, BFD, LACP, BGP.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comfortable with networking technologies such as L2, L3, VLAN, Port Channel, LAG, VXLAN.
  • Experience with Quality of Service features (QoS).
  • Fair understanding of Docker, Containerized environment, Open-source tools, Security vulnerabilities.
  • Enjoy working within fast paced, high performance agile development teams.
  • Ability to work solo, in small team setting or in geographically diverse cross-functional teams
  • If you have a background on SONiC or any Network Operating system, it's a huge plus.
