Job Description

This role involves creating and maintaining automation tests for complex structural engineering software. Key responsibilities include designing, documenting, and executing intricate software test cases using automated methods. The role also entails developing and maintaining test frameworks and collaborating with developers and product managers to ensure software quality.

The ideal candidate will possess strong development skills and have expertise with TestComplete (SmartBear). As an active and essential member of an Agile development team, this position is critical in the software development process. It contributes to decision-making regarding project risks alongside software developers and product managers. Additionally, there are opportunities to mentor others in the necessary job duties and participate in cross-training across all applications within the software suite.

Furthermore, this role serves as a key technical guide and mentor to Associate Software Quality Analysts and other responsibilities within the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) team.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

This role will be hybrid if based near a MiTek office, with the option to be fully remote if not located near a MiTek office.

What You Will Do:


  • Design, develop, document, train and execute complex software test cases used for functional and regression testing cycle.

  • Design, develop, document, train and execute complex software test cases for functional and regression testing cycles.

  • Design, code, test, and debug new and existing software utilizing technologies for the project assigned. This typically includes JavaScript, C#, SQL scripts, and ASP.NET within a test framework.

  • Act as a critical part of the decision-making group to assess the risk of certain projects to determine the appropriate timing and placement of development efforts.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Associate and Software Quality Analysts, along with additional responsibilities within the SQA team and opportunities to lead team meetings.

  • Collaborate and contribute with Software Product Management, developers and SQA to ensure that solutions are efficient, consistent, and fulfill business needs.

  • Work in an Agile software development environment, participating in commitment meetings, retrospectives, and planning meetings.

  • Apply generally accepted Quality Assurance standards and techniques to ensure efficient program logic and data manipulation.

  • Able to independently design quality solutions for large features, including writing new utilities in C# and JavaScript.

  • May interact with internal and external customers to help solve customer issues.

  • Refactor existing test cases and lead requirements, design, and code reviews

  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to other team members, including developing alternative systems and software designs.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelors Related Field required

  • 5+ Years of quality testing experience required

  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis

  • Familiarity with version control systems(ADO, Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.

  • Strong proficiency in TestComplete (SmartBear) and its scripting capabilities.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with development teams, product managers, and QA teams.
