The Banner DBA is an experienced professional specializing in Ellucian Banner ERP. The ideal candidate will have a minimum three to five years of experience working as a consultant or at a college or university as a Sr. DBA responsible for the Ellucian Banner product.
- Review and install updates and patches for the Banner ERP and related 3rd party products.
- Create, maintain and upgrade ERP environment leveraging Tomcat.
- Provide full life cycle support of the Banner ERP and the associated Oracle environment\tools.
- Database & application installation, configuration and maintenance according to established best practices.
- Design, Develop and implement processes for backup, recovery and cloning of databases, including Disaster Recovery initiatives.
- Proactively monitor and optimize system performance using tuning, optimization, AWR, ASH, and other methods.
- Thorough understanding of the technical architecture of the Ellucian Banner software suite, including- Banner 9.
- Experience installing, configuring and upgrading Banner and all related tools and products including planning/analysis and execution of upgrades that include MEP environment.
- Experience with tools such as, Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM), Application Navigator, Banner 9 Admin Pages and Self-Service, Banner Enterprise Identity Services (BEIS), Single Sign-on Configuration/Support (SSO), Ellucian Ethos Identity, Degree Works, ePrint, Banner Workflow and Integration services.
- Experience supporting an Oracle database environment and related tools (Oracle 19c).
- Demonstrated experience supporting the integration and maintenance of third-party applications that integrate with the Banner ERP. Examples include AppWorx, Evisions and learning management systems such as Canvas.
- A demonstrated understanding of application single sign-on for the Banner 9 environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent education required.
- Five (5) or more years of experience with Ellucian Banner software suite.
- Experienced in SAFE (scaled agile framework) along with adhering to strict compliance audit requests.
- Five (5) years of experience with Oracle, RMAN, OEM, Oracle Partitioning, Oracle Dataguard, Oracle Net and PL/SQL scripting.
- Shell scripting and experience in configuring and managing WebLogic and Tomcat.
- Scripting on RHEL 8/Linux platform is required.
- Desired skillset in observability, preferred is New Relic monitoring tool.
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $84,835.61 and $149,076.17. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
