Overview

GKG is seeking a Groundskeeper to join our team for an upcoming contract award in support of INSCOM.



Responsibilities

    Maintain grounds of industrial, commercial or government property such as buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses and athletic fields.
  • Repair structures and equipment; perform following tasks: cut grass using push or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.), trim hedges and edge around walks, flowerbeds and wells, use hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools, prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools and spray fertilizer or insecticide.
  • Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs, water lawn and shrubs during dry periods using hose or activating sprinkler system, raking and removing leaves, mulching plant beds, dispose of leaves and other litter, repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails and outbuildings.
  • Remove snow from sidewalks, driving areas, and parking areas around government facilities. Duties include spreading salt, sweeping, shoveling, and use of snow blowers and small, plow equipped all-terrain vehicles.
  • Assists in the maintenance and repair of tools and motorized equipment required to maintain the grounds. Assist in repair of roads, walks, buildings and mechanical equipment; may clean lounge, office, workshop areas and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping and polishing.
  • Coordinate with Government point of contact to assist in oversight or escort for contractors on large scale beautification or renovation projects.
  • Able to maneuver in small spaces and lift, up to 50lbs.
  • Shall be knowledgeable of all current safety policies, procedures and personal protection equipment (PPE) required that's related to his or her assign job description accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), facility, system equipment security, Environmental Compliance Assessment Protocol (ECAP) and National Electrical Code (NEC) safety standards. To include, but not limited to, confined spaces, oil spills and gasoline chemical spills/handling. Technicians shall also always wear their appropriate safety equipment while performing their assigned task.
  • Shall also be required to attend periodically safety training classes related to their job description.
  • As required assist in oversight or escort for contractors on repair/renovation projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Final Secret Clearance based upon a TIER 3 Background Investigation
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with three (3) years' related work experience.
  • US Citizen.
