Responsibilities

Recognized expert within the company, who designs, researches and develops highly advanced databased driven applications, in support of our customer at the Naval Research Lab (NRL). Bachelor's (or equivalent) with a min of 12 yrs of experience or a Master's with 10 - 13 yrs of experience.

Proficiency in software development methodologies and practices, with an emphasis on database engineering and development that includes both traditional structured coding and object-oriented programming methods, with a strong background in software development tools across various environments . The tasks involve planning, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining intricate technical software systems and databases in support of Arcfield's customer at the NRL. Additional related duties include creating technical and user documentation, providing training and system orientation, and consulting with related development teams throughout the software development life cycle. This role encompasses all facets of software development that supports multiple intelligence data sets and processing from initial planning and design to final deployment and maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust software and database systems.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate customer driven solutions into applications and production networks.
  • Optimize software and database performance and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in the lab and production environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering or Computer Science with 12-15 years experience; MS 10-13; PhD 10+
  • 10+ years of experience in software development with a strong background on database technologies and management.
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of database design, indexing, and optimization techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Must have and maintain a minimum DoD TS/SCI (eligable) security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based development and services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner).
  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).

  • Familiarity with DoD security and compliance regulations (e.g. STIGs)

  • Familiarity with the NRL

Equal Pay Act

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
