PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Subcontracts Manager at Worley, you will play a key role in our mission to deliver sustainable change. You will be responsible for overseeing subcontracting activities to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role involves identifying and assessing subcontractors, negotiating agreements, managing contractual obligations, and ensuring that all subcontracted work aligns with Worley's sustainability objectives and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Subcontractor Identification: Identify and evaluate subcontractors based on project needs, technical expertise, and alignment with Worley's sustainability and performance standards.
  • Prequalification: Assess subcontractors' capabilities, financial stability, safety records, past performance, and compliance with Worley's policies to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations covering pricing, scope of work, deliverables, and other key contractual elements to ensure alignment with project objectives and company standards.
  • Contract Development: Collaborate with legal and project teams to draft, review, and finalize subcontract agreements that comply with Worley's contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with subcontracted work, ensuring proactive measures are in place.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking mechanisms to ensure subcontractors meet project schedules, quality benchmarks, and safety regulations. Maintain comprehensive reports on subcontractor performance and compliance.
  • Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve disputes or challenges that arise during subcontract execution, ensuring minimal project disruption.
  • Change Management: Oversee changes to subcontract scope, timeline, or budget, ensuring that modifications are well-documented and communicated effectively to stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all subcontracting activities, including agreements, communications, approvals, and related documentation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to integrate subcontracted work into overall project plans seamlessly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to subcontract management processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • People Management: Lead and mentor a team of subcontract professionals, providing guidance and acting as the primary point of contact for subcontract-related matters on assigned projects.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILL SET



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in subcontract management within the energy, chemicals, or resources industries, with an understanding of various contract types and structures.
  • Strong knowledge of contracting principles, legal frameworks, and commercial terms.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
  • Understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership abilities with a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
