Accounting Specialist

The Ag Research & Extension Business Services Unit at Kansas State University is looking for an Accounting Specialist to support accounting activities of the assigned unit. Duties include greeting visitors, managing accounting office shared email and telephone; learning basic processes and procedures of accounting office responsibilities to give accurate direction to those with questions; review incoming requests and documents to ensure all items are accompanied by required information to expedite processing times; assist with payment document processing and inventory controls.

This position is on-site.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma and six months of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in accounting or administrative support
• Two years of experience in an accounting support position
• Demonstrated ability in performing highly detailed tasks, including data entry
• Demonstrated ability in operating computers, printers, copiers and scanners
• Experience with accounting software
• Experience responding to needs and requests of a wide range of clients in a friendly and effective manner
