Essential Job Duties |
The primary purpose of this position is to provide financial and administrative support to the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate administrative process for testing and fabrication services or the college, including:
- Track service agreements across multiple departments; ensure accuracy, coordinate with other offices as needed to resolve questions or issues, maintain records,
- Process lab billing,
- Communicate with lab managers regarding status of agreements,
- Reconcile invoice payments,
- Manage monthly aging reports,
- Recommend process improvements.
- Assist the department with managing various financial and procurement transactions as needed, which may include vouchers, journals, P-card transactions, purchase orders, requisitions, travel, and reimbursements.
- Analyze financial data for accuracy, resolve issues, and correct or reverse entries as needed.
- Maintain compliance, internal controls, proper documentation, and assist with check pick-up and deposit processes.
Other Responsibilities:
- Provide other administrative support to the department and assistant dean of finance as needed.

Minimum Experience/Education |
Minimum Experience / Education: High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |

Proven attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
Knowledge of accounting principles, methods, and procedures, with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies in transactions.
General understanding of technology and financial management systems.
Ability to understand, interpret, and apply laws and regulations related to financial records.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, and provide excellent customer service. |
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with NC State accounting and business systems (PeopleSoft Financials - billing, contracts, procurement, travel, etc).
Experience managing
TSA/FSAs
Strong interpersonal skills and experience promoting effective working relationships. |
