The Analyst, Development Funds prepares, collects and interprets financial information, and develops budgets. The position is responsible for various levels of financial reporting to include Department of Pediatrics and the Steele Children's Research Center.

The incumbent will monitor the department's actual performance against budget and financial targets for post-award funding and reporting. This position requires great attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain donor financial responsibilities including reimbursements, event deposits and creating invoices for sponsorships.
  • Manage budgets for donor related funding that is associated with equipment and renovations.
  • Provide financial content and data for generation of donor impact reports used in reviewing alignment with budget and scope of work as determined by the donor/sponsor.
  • Perform financial analysis for donor and gift related budgets and balances to ensure appropriate spending, compliance of policies and regulations for various donors/sponsors/agencies, in addition to UA policies and regulations.
  • Provide approvals for UA Financial system requests and transactions, to include Disbursement Vouchers (DVs), Purchasing Cards (PCards), Requisitions, Purchase Orders (POs) and Travel documentation.
  • Provide financial support for sub units within the department of Pediatrics. May assist with verifying and monitoring internal and external commitments and preparing/managing initial funding plans under the guidance of the Finance Manager.
  • Assist PI and Contracts with Sub Award documentation for grants.
  • Act as Liaison on Invoicing for Sub Award Vendor and UA Accounts Payable Office in Financial Services.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, Bi-annual and yearly tasks to include budgets, inventory, effort reporting and account information updates.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping ensuring compliance with UA Policy.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting practices procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Software including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with office staff and personnel in other campus departments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous financial experience with non-profit organizations.
  • Experience with Financial CRM systems.
