Job Description

Salary Range:up to $114,000 annually (depending on experience)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Manager to oversee the processes, policies, and standards related to data management within the organization. The Data Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing robust data governance frameworks and strategies that ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance. This role will align data initiatives with business goals, ensuring that data management practices enhance business decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Governance & Strategy:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive data governance frameworks to ensure that data is properly classified, accessible, and protected.
  • Establish and enforce data management strategies to optimize data usage across the organization.

Data Quality Assurance:

  • Monitor and ensure data quality standards are met, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions to maintain accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data.

Data Privacy & Compliance:

  • Develop policies and procedures that ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Monitor the organization's adherence to data protection laws and best practices.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Collaborate with business leaders, data teams, IT, and other stakeholders to align data management practices with organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business units to translate data needs into actionable insights.

Data Management Best Practices:

  • Establish and enforce best data entry, maintenance, storage, and archival practices.
  • Ensure that data is organized, secure, and easily accessible for business analysis.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with emerging data management trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Recommend improvements to processes and systems to ensure optimal data management across the organization.

Training & Support:

  • Provide training and support to internal teams on data management practices, tools, and systems.
  • Ensure that staff are aware of data governance and data privacy standards.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience (X years) in data management, data governance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of data management frameworks, data privacy laws, and best practices.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools, data management platforms, and data visualization software.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate across different teams and levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Certification in data management (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)).

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Clearance Requirements:

  • An Active Top-Secret clearance
  • US Citizenship is Required
