What You'll Do:

As the Logistics IT Manager in our Birmingham, AL Corporate Office, you are responsible for:



  • Leading a team of analysts to understand business needs and recommend solutions with a focus on order fulfillment of aggregate and asphalt products including truck dispatching and points of sale.
  • Working with the Logistics business stakeholders to identify goals and objectives, then analyze data and processes to determine areas for improvement.
  • Overseeing the development of project plans and ensures that deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Articulating complex information to Logistics business stakeholders and IT technical teams.
  • Ensuring the business analysis team performs efficiently consistently achieving increased productivity.
  • Coordinating with extended IT teams to develop functional and technical capabilities on various technology platforms
  • Setting goals and priorities for the business analysis team .
  • Managing schedules and capacity planning for the team of business analysts.
  • Managing IT demand intake to deliver new Logistics projects to improve the organization's workflow and workforce performance.


Essential Functions:



  • Serve as the IT business leader to define, implement and maintain Logistics solutions. This requires working with Logistics Innovation Team, Logistics Service Center, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Credit, IS and other divisions to identify and implement business execution improvements.
  • Lead and direct a team that supports the Vulcan logistics organization for aggregates and asphalt lines of business.
  • Meet regularly with and positively influence internal groups, ensuring business system needs are captured, clearly understood, and evaluated for benefit & effort.
  • Lead the prioritization of requested projects and enhancements based on benefit, effort, and resources.
  • Establish a "Voice of the Customer" role and ensure all projects have a positive impact on the customer experience.
  • Present project status updates to appropriate levels of management (project teams, directors, management).

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • 5+ years of IT work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading/managing a team of IT business analysts for business requirements and functional specification documents.
  • Knowledge of logistics applications, transportation management systems, dispatching, and scheduling system applications.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Field Operations business process knowledge.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain quality relationships with all levels of employees.
  • Can work independently and with cross-functional teams in the organization.
  • Knowledge and experience partnering with both business stakeholders and IT professionals.
  • Positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to travel as required for systems implementations.
