The Job at a Glance

As a Senior Software QA Engineer (internally known as a World of Bugs-Breaker), you will collaborate with the Parts Town development buddies and external partners to improve product quality and speed up the development lifecycle by creating and implementing manual and automation test scripts. A Typical Day

  • Test systems, their feedback loops and mechanisms, logging, reporting and interconnectivity
  • Process artifacts that detail how, where and why quality controls and test mechanisms exist across the entire SDLC
  • Implementation of level architecture for good, scalable and maintainable testing strategies across disparate use cases (Web, Mobile, Data Engineering, AI etc)
  • Contribute to and maintain our org wide Architecture Decision Records
  • CI/CD practices, environment configuration, feedback loops etc
  • Backend tooling, frameworks, their application, quality gating and measurement
  • Technology stack/services consultancy and selection in accordance with technical and quality requirements (scalability, performance, security, compliance)
  • Drive Ecommerce and Partstown wide quality automation projects
  • Integration, Acceptance, Performance, Security level testing platforms
  • Govern, train and promote good tests versus bad tests at each testing level
  • Drive best in class QA strategies by working across disciplines and with other Principal Engineers
  • Provide knowledge transfer, training, mentoring of QA practices across the engineering team

To Land This Opportunity

  • You have 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • You have extensive and applied knowledge across a range of automated testing tools and frameworks e.g. Junit, Jest, Mocha, Playwright, Appium, WebDriver.IO, Selenium, JMeter, Chrome Lighthouse, BrowserStack etc)
  • You are an advocate and enabler of strong quality controls (unit, integration, acceptance testing frameworks and methodologies) using industry leading tooling (Junit, SonarCloud, Jmeter, Webdriver.io etc)
  • You have understanding of a range of programming languages and associated frameworks e.g. Java, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS, SpringBoot, ReactJS, NextJS, TailwindCSS etc
  • You're passionate about testing strategy, test case definition, test planning and execution including test case tracking tools like Zephyr
  • You have the ability to distill, author and drive test automation strategies using a number of best-in-class platforms and frameworks to drive down the feedback loop and increase quality reporting and control gates
  • You are a driver of ITSM (ITIL v4) controls and processes to drive greater rigor into our change, knowledge, incident, problem and operational processes
  • You are familiar with containerization technologies: Docker/ContainerD, Kubernetes (K8S, K3S), container registries and artifact tools (e.g. Artifactory, GCR, ACR, ECR)
  • You have an understanding of REST, GraphQL and event-driven architecture principles and best practices and tooling (e.g. Pub/Sub, Kafka etc)
  • You have the ability to understand and empathize with our customers, to drive testing strategies aligned to their needs/purposes/concerns
  • You possess knowledge of diagramming tools and methodologies (e.g. Miro, Diagrams.net, Figjam, Mermaid.JS etc)
  • You have strong communication and presentation skills
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

The salary range for this role is $85,500 - 114,400 annually which is based on including but not limited to qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Parts Town is a pay for performance-company. In addition to base pay, some roles offer a profit-sharing program, and an annual bonus depending on the role. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with match, employee assistance programs, paid time off, paid sick time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and professional development opportunities.
