Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the Retail Production Associate is responsible for sorting, pricing and preparing merchandise for sale according to production and workflow standards. This position is also responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience and product workflow in both the front and back of the store.
Essential Functions

As a Production Associate your role will:


  • Sort, inspect, tag, hang, and prepare donated items for sale according to company standards.
  • Price items per pricing standards and enter in computerized point of sale system.
  • Meet and exceed individual production goal expectations.
  • Prioritize safety and follow Agency safety policies and procedures. Promptly communicate safety issues and concerns.
  • Prepare, stock, and clean the production station before and after every shift.
  • Follow all merchandise and theft prevention policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy while interacting with customers, donors, and team members.
  • Comply with all Agency policies and procedures.



Complete other assignments as needed to support the retail and organizational mission, this may include:


  • Receiving donations.
  • Placement of goods to the sales floor.
  • General store upkeep and cleaning.
  • Assisting customers and/or operating a cash register.
  • Operating a hand stacker and pallet jack.
  • Other duties assigned.



Qualifications
The role will be a proven leader with the following:


  • High school diploma or equivalent is not required.
  • A minimum of 18 years old.
  • Possess basic mathematical and literacy skills in English as necessary for the job.
  • Ability to quickly assess donated goods and determine appropriate handling and pricing to meet production standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal driven environment.
  • Ability to learn basic computer skills as necessary to the job.
  • Commitment to mission of the organization.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, and frequently bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, and push.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment, with varying temperatures and dust.
  • Be open to working a flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Previous experience in thrift or warehouse processing work is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to or exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Ability to transport an item up to 100 pounds by pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to handle repetitive motions including reaching above your head.
  • Ability to learn the operation of a hand stacker and pallet jack.
  • Ability to learn handling cash and operation of a cash register.



Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel


  • Work schedule will be assigned onsite at the assigned retail location.
  • This position works a flexible schedule to support retail locations open 7 days per week, 10am - 8pm.
  • Hours may vary depending on the needs of the business which may include nights, weekends and holidays.



Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse environment with donated goods back room, and retail environment with merchandise displays and items available for purchase in inventory.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
