Job Title: OSP Inspector - I
Location(s): Whites Creek, TN
Targeted Years of Experience: 0-3 years
Responsibilities:
- Oversees, inspects, and monitors contractual field work, which includes excavations, boring, placement of hand-holes, aerial strand and fiber cable installation, grounding, and monitoring restoration (sod, etc) of work areas per Telecommunication standards.
- Must be knowledgeable in outside plant construction. Line, splicing and substructure.
- Knowledge of State, Federal, OSHA, NEC codes is a must.
- Working knowledge of 3GIS, Google Earth or other industry standard geospatial applications. General computer application skills required (MSOffice applications, Adobe, GSuite, etc.).
- Advises contractors of violations and recommends adjustments to work operations.
- Applies vast knowledge of OSP construction methods, practices, and safety guidelines.
Must Have Skills:
- Outside Plant experience in underground and aerial construction.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Understanding of safety requirements as dictated by TDOT and Metro Nashville government.
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in GIS programs.
- Self motivated and assertive to be able to stop construction if questions or concerns arise.
- 3 to 5 years experience in the telecommunication field environment.
