Power BI Developer

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Power BI Developer to join our team. This role primarily focuses on creating, optimizing, and managing Power BI solutions that enable clear and actionable insights for stakeholders. You will play a key role in turning raw data into meaningful visualizations and interactive dashboards that support decision-making processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
  • Connect to various data sources, clean, and transform data using Power Query and other ETL processes.
  • Write and optimize DAX queries to create calculated columns, measures, and KPIs.
  • Implement and maintain row-level security and user access controls within Power BI.
  • Follow standards for dashboard layout, design consistency, and data visualization best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing Power BI reports and datasets.
  • Ensure high performance of Power BI solutions through data model optimization and report performance tuning.
  • Stay updated on Power BI advancements and implement new features where applicable.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including experience with Power Query, DAX, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with connecting Power BI to diverse data sources such as SQL databases, Excel, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Basic understanding of relational database concepts and SQL querying.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with complex data models.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Power BI service features like workspaces, app deployment, and user roles is a plus.
  • Experience with Excel and Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps) is advantageous but not required.

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range for this role is $80,100 - $96,000 and can adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
