Cash Vault Assistant Manager

Description

This position is responsible for managing the Cash Vault operations and transaction activity to support service goals while demonstrating positive leadership behaviors through team motivation and development while leading by example. This includes directing department activity to meet goals for servicing, production and work quality. Manages and trains all personnel in the vault. Is responsible for monitoring, balancing, and auditing off-site vault locations. Responsibilities also include Cash Vault Specialist scheduling, maintaining an audit compliant department, and monitoring regulatory issues. Directs the supply of currency and coin to all branches and correspondent banks. Analyzes cash volumes by denomination required for on-site and off-site vault locations, as well as all ATM sites. Processes customer transactions, answers customer inquiries regarding deposits or change orders, performs maintenance of customer information in deposit processing system, and prepares analysis and reconciliation of customer and vault activity. Manages the evaluation of surplus cash held in branch vaults.

Essential Functions

Service:



  • Accepts all transactions related to checking, savings, and loans. Meets or exceeds balancing and transaction goals for efficiency.
  • Maximizes staffing efficiency by scheduling vault personnel to meet workload requirements.
  • Responsible for the daily operation of cash and teller functions, assigning and balancing cash drawers within acceptable time period while maintaining appropriate cash drawer limits.
  • Provides advice, counseling, and solutions through staff and directly to customers.
  • Works with other Bank managers and staff to meet customer needs in a responsive, efficient manner across department lines.
  • Attends meetings with Federal Reserve employees and other area bank's vault managers to discuss operational issues.
  • Works with Secret Service on counterfeit or raised bills.
  • Maintains the security and confidentiality of Bank and customer information.
  • Commercial client onboarding.
  • Liaise with armored car services.


Administrative:



  • Serves as the Assistant Manager to Cash Vault staff.
  • Assists Cash Services Operations Manager to analyze workloads and workflows, designing and implementing best practices which define the most efficient way to conduct specific processes as well as continually upgrading and evaluating processes. Provides administrative and operational direction and support for the department, including planning and goal setting.
  • Directly delivers coaching and training of job expectations and staff development activities.
  • Works with Manager and Human Resources in the recruiting and hiring process.
  • Manages performance documentation, development and delivery to staff.
  • Accountable for complying with Bank policies and procedures, and governmental regulatory requirements as written in bank policy and procedure documentation (includes fraud prevention).
  • Participates in department budget process.
  • Develops and prepares Excel spreadsheets to record and/or track customer activity (daily deposits and/or change orders), used for monthly account analysis billing.
  • Daily reconciliation of vault activity in Spokane and multiple remote locations.
  • Develops and utilizes Excel spreadsheets to reconcile daily incoming and outgoing currency by
  • denomination.
  • Determines daily currency needs, by denomination, shipping to and/or ordering from the Federal Reserve to maintain appropriate cash levels.
  • Coordinates system enhancements, conversions, and interfaces with other Bank departments.
  • Performs customer information maintenance in separate deposit processing system utilized by the Cash Vault.
  • Secures all cash and negotiable items in locked area.
  • Conducts staff meetings and individual one on ones.
  • Perform compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.


Qualifications



  • Experience in management or leadership role.
  • Accounting background preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Cash Vault operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal Oriented, self-motivated and enthusiastic in regard to customer service.
  • Able to multi-task effectively, prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Possesses motivational behaviors to facilitate leading by example and performing as an accomplished role model and team player, in the spirit of promoting a positive work environment within the department and throughout the Bank.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills demonstrated through the ability to effectively manage competing priorities of own work and work of others to keep projects on task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • High degree of PC based technical skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products, including Excel.
  • Excellent 10-key skills required, as well as proven accurate mathematical aptitude and analytical ability.
  • Knowledge of WTB policies and banking products and services.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.

Pay Range: $25.45 - $38.19 per hour

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, Washington. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
