Responsibilities
The Benefits & Leave Analyst provides analytical and administrative support of company benefit programs including retirement plans, wellness, medical, life, disability benefits, ancillary plans, leave of absence administration and other benefit program. Works with Senior Benefits Manager to ensure benefit programs are in compliance of federal and state laws. Responsiblities:
- Administers company benefit programs including, leaving of absence, tuition reimbursement, wellness, and supports Senior Benefits Manager with administration of health and welfare, and retirement benefits.
- Manage regular reporting (ACA, 1094/1095, 401(k)) and funding requirements.
- Conducts regular benefits audits to ensure compliance with plan documents, and federal/state laws.
- Research and understand employee and candidate needs, as well as market conditions and trends to ensure company benefit programs are competitive and aligned to company and employee interests. Provide recommendations to management of enhancements or changes to benefits programs to align with research.
- Support Senior Benefits Manager to evaluate both short- and long-term benefits strategies
- Manager company well-being program. Create and implement well-being initiatives.
- Partner and collaborate with internal partners including, but not limited to, HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, etc. Ensure company regulatory compliance including, preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies (for example, 5500 filings and ACA required reporting).
- Provide support to annual benefits renewal and annual open enrollment.
- Conduct biweekly new hire benefit orientation to new hires
- Serve as subject matter expert to support employees with benefit questions or requests.
- Assist Senior Benefits Manager with projects as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience in benefits function including experience in health & welfare, leave and retirement programs.
Technical Skills:
- Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Windows Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and primarily Excel
Interpersonal/Communication Skills:
- Strong Oral/Written Communication and Interpersonal, and Customer Service skills; ability to communicate effectively with a high degree of professionalism
- Frequent interactions with a wide variety of internal and external contacts, with all levels of authority and responsibility
- Ability to react and respond favorably, manage conflict and resolve problems in a professional manner
- Team Player; and demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
