What You Will Be Doing:
The Information Services Senior Communications Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of a firm-wide Information Services (IS) change management and communication strategy, creating and implementing change management and communication plans for IS projects and facilitating adoption and transformation at the firm. The IS Senior Communications Specialist will also have responsibility for all internal IS communications and departmental meetings. The IS Senior Communications Specialist will effectively manage collaboration among internal IS departments and between other business professional groups in responding to technology-related questions in Requests for Proposal (RFPs)s, client surveys and Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs). The IS Senior Communications Specialist will be responsible for ensuring consistent and timely completion by IS of all RFP, survey and OCG responses.
Play a critical role in the IS change management process by assisting in the development and implementation of change management and communications plans for all IS projects, carefully considering the impact of projects on each audience and assist in the development implementation of a firm-wide IS change management and communications strategy. Continuously improve the profile of the IS organization by educating and informing firm audiences about IS initiatives. Prepare meaningful and timely communications, to be delivered to attorneys and business professionals.
Ensure IS adherence to established communication and change management best practices and frameworks, including stakeholder collaboration, stakeholder analysis, and training delivery methods. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, providing feedback and making adjustments as necessary to enhance understanding and minimize resistance to change.
Provide excellent client service by working closely with the Pitches and Pursuits group within Client Development and effectively managing collaboration with internal IS departments and other business professionals to craft responses to technology-related questions in RFPs and client questionnaires. Work closely with the OCG group to provide guidance and respond to technology related requirements within client OCGs, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence.
About The Role:



  • Assist the Technology Training Manager in the development and implementation of a departmental-wide approach to change management, adhering to best practices.


  • Implements communication plans for IS projects, and especially, major change projects, which impact the majority of business professionals and/or attorneys at the firm.


  • Works with colleagues who are subject matter experts to develop appropriate strategy and content for change management plans and communications.


  • Develops a broad range of planned and appropriate communication materials for a variety of audiences using multiple communication channels, including: Teams, Intranet, email, in person.


  • Builds and fosters close collaboration and coordination with the Communication and Marketing group particularly in the area of the development of communications materials and assessment of appropriate communications vehicles.


  • Collaborates with business professionals within and outside IS to respond to technology-related questions in RFPs, client questionnaires and in the review of client OCGs.


  • Must be innovative in identifying means to improve IS communications and profile.


  • Utilize existing firm software to develop processes and procedures from communication and change management


  • Manages day-to-day IS department communications and the distribution of communications.


  • Designs, writes, edits and creates change management plans and communications content, specific to messaging objective and considering target audience.


  • Develops and delivers internal and external communications best practices and strategies for the IS department.


  • Develops messaging for IS, with an internal version that complements the external version.


  • Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.


  • Balances multiple assignments and manages workload to meet established deadlines.


  • Keeps abreast of legal technology and communication trends, participates in targeted industry organizations.





Required Skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.


  • Knowledge and expertise in change management strategies and best practices.


  • Ability to turn complex technical communications into meaningful content for both technical and non-technical audiences.


  • Requires strong project management capabilities with a results-oriented, pragmatic approach to problem solving and quality delivery.


  • Possesses knowledge and expertise in IT service life-cycle management models and frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and process improvement frameworks (e.g., Six Sigma, TQM).


  • Possession knowledge of change management models (e.g. ADKAR).


  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of Information Services, the Communication and Marketing group, attorneys and staff.


  • Ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines.


  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.


  • Experience with Generative Artificial Intelligence tools.


  • Strong attention to detail.


  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.





Required Experience


Education:

  • BA/BS required.

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in change management/training and/or communications development and management required.
  • Prior IT experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to successfully run complex change program communications.
