US-Electronic Lab Technician I

The primary role of the candidate will be to assist in lab tasks involving material testing, machining, printed electronics and failure analysis. The candidate will work in support of new process and product development projects sponsored by the Client Research Labs (ERL) and other Client businesses.

Specific responsibilities and expectations of this position include:

* Assist in the assembly, testing, and calibration of electronic prototypes and devices.

* Conduct experiments and tests under the guidance of engineers or scientists, following established procedures and protocols

* Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and train for additional machining skills

* Operate screen printing, and direct ink writing equipment

* Record and analyze test data, documenting observations and findings accurately.

* Assist in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and presentations.

* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab space, ensuring proper storage and handling of equipment and materials.

* Safely and correctly operate lab equipment, perform routine preventative maintenance, and report any issues to management

*The candidate should be self-directed, able to work with little supervision, work well with others, and have an interest in continuous learning and improvement.*

Job Qualifications/Educational Requirements

Minimum Requirements


* Associate degree or technical certificate in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Machining or related field

* 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory or technical environment, preferably in electronics

* Basic understanding of electronic principles and components

* Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

* Demonstrates effective communication with peers and management, ability to organize and prepare reports

* Knows and follows safety practices in all areas of the workplace.

* Must be comfortable working in a cross-disciplinary, team oriented atmosphere.

Preferred Requirements

* Familiarity with soldering and circuit board assembly techniques.

* Experience with electronic design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle).

* Machine shop and CNC experience

* Additional experience with materials testing and test equipment such as tensile load frame, fatigue, rheology, TGA, DSC, DMA etc.

* Knowledge and experience conducting materials or electronics testing, operating test equipment, and analyzing results
