Job Overview The Assistant, Supply Planner, supports the Supply Planning team in maximizing Macy's Private Brands' network capacity, ensuring inventory availability, increasing overall operating efficiencies, and reducing lead times. The Assistant translates demand plans provided by Financial and Merchandising Planning teams into category supply plans, enabling better allocation and reservation of capacity within established vendor partnerships. What You Will Do
Skills You Will Need Analytical and Quantitative Skills: Ability to analyze data, predict outcomes, and optimize supply planning processes. Tool Proficiency: Proficient in creating, maintaining, and advancing planning tools such as the Demand Plan Aggregation Tool and Supply Plan/Capacity Reservation Tool. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams and vendors. Collaboration: Highly collaborative individual capable of working seamlessly with cross-functional teams and various levels of leadership. Organization and Project Management: Skilled in managing calendars, milestone meetings, and tracking KPIs to ensure alignment and execution. Knowledge of Supply Planning: In-depth understanding of manufacturing timelines, global product flow, countries of origin, and costing. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Advanced Excel skills for data aggregation, analysis, and planning. Problem-Solving Ability: Independent and resourceful, able to work with minimal supervision while solving complex issues. Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring effective communication and capacity updates throughout the season.
