Job Summary

This role provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to customers, opens new accounts, and responds to customer needs by recommending appropriate bank products and services. The position follows established policies and procedures in accordance with compliance requirements and the supervisor's direction.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service in person or by phone, explaining various services and products while assisting customers with selection.
  • Open and close all types of accounts, including checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, savings bonds, and safety deposit boxes.
  • Maintain and file account-related documentation.
  • Assist customers with safety deposit box access.
  • Process CD and IRA account distributions.
  • Handle orders for checks, ATMs, and debit cards.
  • Produce and process customer correspondence.
  • Research and resolve customer issues, utilizing account imaging and microfiche as needed.
  • Address customer disputes related to debit card or account transactions.
  • Explain account charges, including NSF fees, and assist customers with checkbook balancing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date signature cards.
  • Monitor competitor bank interest rates.
  • Assist in locating and correcting errors, outages, or unposted accounts.
  • Help train new employees.
  • Support accounts payable, process general ledger tickets, generate reports, and balance internal accounts as needed.
  • Provide backup support for the receptionist, teller, or other customer service roles.
  • Participate in team efforts to cross-sell bank and affiliate services.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in banking, cash handling, retail, or customer service preferred (or an equivalent combination of secondary education and experience).
