Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Prosector II to prepare professional prosections for Graduate students in nurse anesthesia, nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist programs. The primary role is to independently prosect cadavers in an anatomy laboratory for instructional use and demonstration by faculty.

Responsibilities
- Independently prosect embalmed human remains to produce high-quality anatomic specimens for instructional use and demonstration by faculty.
- Work with faculty to develop, update and record prosection protocols used by student prosectors. Prepare other instructional materials as needed to support lab lessons. May provide limited instruction to students about prosection technique, specimen care and limited instruction of anatomy objectives.
- Coordinate activities with laboratory faculty and medical course owner. Assists faculty and lab staff in laboratory and classroom set-up, including but not limited to placing specimens and models on lab floor and in the classroom as instructed. As needed, coordinates with other staff to move remains and specimens.
- Maintain lab safety protocols and lab cleanliness. At times, may be responsible for cleaning up bodily fluids from cadavers. May be responsible for laboratory maintenance and assist staff in routine facility maintenance.
- Mentor less experienced Prosectors in the prosecting process and techniques.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree; Masters Degree preferred.
- Advanced education in Anatomic/Biomedical Sciences preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in identifying anatomical structures within a cadaveric model.
- Dissection skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Organization and time management.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a local background check.
Physical Capabilities
- Lifting: Requires lifting materials over 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
Work Environment
- This position will take place in both a classroom and laboratory setting.
Compensation
- The hourly pay range for this position is $27.71- $59.60. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
