About This Role

The Department of Management in the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Kansas State University is seeking applicants for an Instructor position in the Management area. The candidate will be responsible for teaching and service activities within the Department. The role will be roughly 80% teaching and 20% service.

Teaching: The desired area of teaching expertise is strategic management. The individual selected will teach strategic management as a regular part of their teaching assignment. In addition, the individual should be able to teach in a supplementary area such as principles of management, business ethics, or international management.

Service: The individual selected will also be expected to demonstrate a commitment to collegiality and shared governance. As a part of this role, the individual will undertake service for the benefit of the department or college, such as being as a advisor to a student organization, participating in academic events, engaging with students, alumni, and corporations as a representative of the department, and/or serving on departmental or college committees as needed.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • The candidate must hold an MBA (or closely related masters degree) from an AACSB accredited university.
  • The candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in business.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior university teaching experience in strategic management or a closely related field.
  • Professional work experience related directly to one's area of teaching.
  • Prior experience in organizational training or student development.
  • Ability to teach one or more additional courses in management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to understanding one's own experiences and the perspectives of diverse others in an effort to cultivate strong relationships and effective collaboration.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
