Buyer

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage the procurement of raw materials, components, tooling, and services. This role involves sourcing, negotiating supplier agreements, and ensuring compliance with government contract requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with FAR regulations, supplier management, and cost reduction initiatives.

• Procure raw materials, equipment, tools, and services necessary for operations.
• Plan and schedule material orders to meet production demands.
• Negotiate agreements with suppliers to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and timely deliveries.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2008 and government contract requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain vendor rating systems.
• Source new suppliers and issue company quotation requests.
• Process approved requisitions in the ERP system (DELTEK Costpoint experience is a plus).
• Assist with obsolete and diminishing stock processes, non-conforming material returns, and accounts payable reconciliation.
• Track market trends and price fluctuations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain Approved Supplier List and Supplier Files.
• Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and bid packages as needed.

• Education & Experience:
  
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience OR
  • Master's degree with 1+ year of relevant experience OR
  • High School Diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  
  
  
  
• Strong understanding of FAR regulations and government procurement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (DELTEK Costpoint preferred).
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills.

• Experience buying for government contracts.
• Familiarity with government RFPs and bid processes.
• Experience using DELTEK Costpoint.
