We are looking for a skilled Journeyman Reefer to join our team. This role involves servicing and repairing vehicles, heavy equipment, and container refrigeration systems for Stevedore/Terminal operations.

Summary:

The Journeyman mechanic is required and able to service and repair all vehicles, heavy equipment, including chassis and container refrigeration for all Stevedore/Terminal operations in a timely efficient manner.

Essential Duties:



  • Trouble Shoot repair all types of power equipment, terminal and stevedore
  • Trouble Shoot repair all types of reefer equipment
  • Communicate, both verbal and written


Physical Working Conditions:



  • Requires the full use of the person's hands, arms and legs.
  • Standing, sitting, squatting, lying down.
  • Able to lift, pull stretch to use and reach power equipment.
  • Able to climb ladders.
  • Able to see and hear fast moving equipment.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5+ years Reefer/Genset experience
  • 2G minimum Welding Certification and ability to braze and solder
  • 608 EPA Certification
  • Possession of all necessary tools to perform job duties effectively
  • Valid CA drivers license


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong working knowledge and ability to diagnose/repair Carrier, Daikin, Star Cool, Thermo-King units and other major brands
  • Maintain positive attitude amongst colleagues and terminal personnel
  • Stay focused under high-pressure situations
