Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lead frontend engineer with strong creative skills that is familiar with the latest web design trends including responsive web design. You will be responsible for creating the user experience on our website from conception to completion on projects. You oversee other frontend developers to give technical guidance and direction. This role will see you leading other UI/UX developers as well as being an individual contributor to the project. You will be working with Creatives, Designers and Marketing teams on a day-to-day basis, while brainstorming with the platform team to ensure designs meet an established set of principles and standards. What you'll do:
- Work with product managers, on-site and offshore development teams to design, develop, test, and implement Agilent's customers experience using an iterative and agile development methodology.
- Be responsible for technical planning, designing, development and modification of new solution specifications and application.
- This includes technical design of content structure, user/process flows and interfaces.
- Ensure the development of UX support lightning-fast performance, SEO and Accessibility needs.
- Work on setting up structure and governance of a new Design system for Agilent customer facing domains. Continue to champion, contribute and maintain the design system.
- Iterative creation web & mobile prototypes using visual designs to support business concept development for Agilent.
- Work closely with the design team to build a design system, component library and a templating framework to make it easier for backend development
- Bring user-centered design (UCD) thinking techniques to Agilent's customer-facing domains, from concept to launch
- Build the features that our users see and interact with daily.
- Translation of business and UX requirements into high fidelity visual designs, branding, and interactive prototypes, in support of on-going digital projects
- Testing and support of production-ready web prototypes, for both requirements and production development iterations
- Research and adopt new technologies
- Write and review technical frontend designs
- Project estimation of visual design, web prototyping, and production development support
- Work closely with the developer manager and back-end teams to architect and integrate front-end code

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent years of experience in related field.
- 9+ years of relevant web UX/UI development experience
- 4+ years of experience leading other frontend developers
- 8+ years of experience developing for responsive web sites
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyze problems and find effective solutions, particularly under pressure.
- Well-rounded knowledge of UX design principles and techniques
- Must have an expert knowledge of building cross-browser user interfaces.
- Ability to rapidly iterate through prototypes
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript native libraries.
- Excellent understanding of Web Optimization strategies to improve page performance including a deep understanding of lighthouse auditing and optimization strategies.
- Knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL APIs and how to integrate them effectively.
- Experience with build tools and package managers (like Webpack, npm, or Yarn).
- Ability to create complex interaction and experiences building custom UI widgets using Angular or React or HTL.
- Expert knowledge of optimizing client-side performance, through CSS optimization techniques and lazy loading
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
- Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Governance, setup, structuring and maintenance of home grown UX Design System.
- Experience with leveraging content caching by browser and content delivery networks (CDN) to provide dynamic and personalize user experience
- Understanding of frontend security issues (like XSS and CSRF) and how to mitigate them.
- Experience with one of the public cloud providers AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Depth in Knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL APIs and how to integrate them effectively.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Good understanding of single page application (SPA) JavaScript frameworks like ReactJS, AngularJS
- Experience with eCommerce domain and AEM or similar CMS is preferred.
- Familiarity with design patterns, developer tools, HTML, and CSS
- Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
- Experience developing rapid prototypes
- Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed
- Strong technical lead skill to oversee and provide guidance to a small team of frontend developers
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as git
- Familiarity with state management libraries (like Redux or MobX).
- Experience with testing libraries (like Jest, Mocha, or Cypress) to ensure code quality.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $121,600.00 - $228,000.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
