Job Summary

Serve as a key member of the IT Executive Leadership team charting strategic direction in harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and advancing the adoption/integration of AI at Georgia Southern University. This position will collaborate with institutional stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of AI efforts. Additionally, this position will actively engage and facilitate strong relationships with University steering committees and advisory councils.

Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for AI-driven innovations that enhance academic programs, student experiences and operational efficiency
  • Coordinate and oversee AI programs, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery
  • Seek creative partnerships to champion and resource AI initiatives
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging AI trends, technologies, and best practices to guide strategic decision-making
  • Advocates for, helps develop, and helps promote AI literacy among faculty, staff and students
  • Collaborate with central IT team and institutional stakeholders to ensure alignment of AI initiatives and build a foundation to promote exploration and development of AI
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of AI initiatives
  • Work with AI steering committees to set strategic goals and success metrics for campus AI use cases
  • Provide leadership and oversight to AI team members


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or 8 years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with AI tools, frameworks and platforms
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Masters Degree

Preferred Experience
  • Proven experience in AI project management, coordination or support


Proposed Salary

Commensurate with Experience

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
