Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Edmond, OK Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm Essential Functions of Employment with DLO: Main Duties: Perform tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coag and blood bank. Assist with specimen processing as needed. Follow employer policies, work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner, perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Review and assess QC and assist with inventory and ordering. Additional duties include assisting with training, competency assessments, validations, and other projects needed in the department. Required Knowledge: A solid understanding of basic laboratory testing, including QA/QC is required for this position. A successful candidate will possess good computer skills and be able to adapt to using multiple computer systems. The candidate should be able to take instruction from a variety of sources without adversity. Special Requirements: Bachelor of Science (or currently pursuing) with MLS or MLT certification, with at least 3 years of laboratory experience preferred. Ability to maintain a professional, courteous, and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. Reflect the company's values in all aspects of performance. Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. Keyboard skills are important. Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude are required. Must be willing to work overtime or other times/shifts if required. Show up for work, on time and prepared to perform all tasks and processes, each and every scheduled work day and to remain performing those duties throughout the entire assigned work schedule for that day. Perform all tasks and processes assigned by your immediate supervisor including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processes assigned that you may be over-qualified to perform. Perform the previous two job duties/functions as a collaborative member of your work team and with a personal disposition that is positive and supportive of your fellow team members. Able to resolve issues with little intervention from supervisor. Recognizes when to give support to teammates during staffing challenges and whenever is deemed appropriate. Able to direct workflow and give sound advice to keep patient testing going. Communicates well with team and leadership and is open to new ideas and new ways of doing things.
