Job Summary: The PSD Materials Handler supports our engine builders by arranging/staging incoming parts (new and reused). This position will be key to supporting a process change designed to increase production within our Engine Rebuild shops.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:



  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission Statement
  • Plans, sorts, and stages parts to support engine assembly process
  • Maintains all company equipment, tools, and work areas in a good, clean, and working order
  • Coordinates and plans the movement of parts with the parts department
  • Ensures the warehouse and equipment yard is neat, clean and orderly
  • Works overtime as required by workload
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Basic knowledge of engines, components, and parts handling
  • General knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge and proficiency with current computer software and related hardware
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Operation and control skills of equipment or systems
  • Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to be self-starting and self-motivated
  • Ability to read, write, and understand information
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences


Education and Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One or more years of experience preferred

  • None


Travel:



  • Up to 10% travel may be required & may require overnight stays


Physical Requirements:



  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform job duties and responsibilities
  • Significant amount of time standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, and reaching
  • Constant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterity
  • Communicates with internal customers, supervisors, managers, and co-workers
  • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
  • Frequently lifts and moves materials and equipment up to 50 lb; must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
  • Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment



Work Environment:



  • Regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts and exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water and high speed rotating equipment
  • Works in extremely bright or inadequate lighting
  • Exposure to high noise levels and body vibration
  • Works in an enclosed and open vehicle or equipment
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
  • Exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings
