Overview

Join our Lake Ridge Bank team as a Compliance Officer and play a vital role in ensuring our bank operates with the highest level of integrity and compliance! In this dynamic position, you'll help monitor and enhance our compliance program, stay ahead of evolving regulations, and collaborate with teams across the bank to implement key updates. You'll also work closely with the VP-Compliance, gaining valuable experience in regulatory reviews and examinations while making a meaningful impact on our organization. The home office is flexible based out one of our Lake Ridge Bank communities.


Responsibilities

Compliance Management

    Monitor the bank's compliance-related procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure adherence with regulations.
  • Assist with the review, and make recommendations for, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate emerging issues and compliance risks.
  • Assist with complex projects and activities that may have significant impact on the operations of the bank.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and implement any impacts of new or revised rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Committee to implement policies and procedures relative to regulatory changes.

Compliance Reviews

  • Partner with business units and outside consultants to perform monitoring reviews to ensure compliance with regulations and policies of the bank.
  • Present monitoring review findings to VP-Compliance
  • Manage the monitoring, tracking, and reporting processes.
  • Assist in the administration of ongoing risk assessments.

Lending Compliance

  • Collaborate with the lending areas to assist in managing and supporting lending compliance requirements.
  • Oversee HMDA program, including monitoring data, educating associates and submission of bank's LAR.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for bank's flood insurance process.

Compliance Training

  • Facilitate new, ongoing, and remedial compliance training.
  • Administer compliance training for new hires.
  • Teach instructor-led classes when needed.

Adhere to all Bank Security/Compliance Regulations

  • Complete all annual bank security and compliance training.
  • Adhere to Bank Security/compliance and policy guidelines for compliance area.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times.
  • Stay current on all compliance regulations.

Other Responsibilities

  • Partner effectively across all levels of the organization and develop positive working relationships.
  • Assist VP-Compliance as needed with special projects, tasks, etc.
  • Continually develop knowledge, skills, and abilities through internal and external training programs.
  • Participate in bank and department meetings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance, specifically in the banking sector with a focus on lending.
  • Partner with business units to provide positive solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of lending regulations and requirements.
  • Well-developed verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills to be able to interact and communicate with diverse groups of customers, employees, examiners, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the proven ability to exercise independent judgment in decision making.
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point with the ability and willingness to learn new programs and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent the organization in a professional, positive manner.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English well.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, accounting, law or similar field.
  • Previous experience managing compliance projects and implementing regulations.
  • Experience with cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Familiarity with financial products and services and bank operations.
