A post-doctoral research associate position is available in the Department of Plant Biology at Rutgers University working on projects to investigate regulatory mechanisms conferring plant tolerance to abiotic stress (i.e. heat, drought or salinity) or interaction with beneficial microbes in perennial grass species using a system approach combining genetics/genomics, metabolomics and high through-put phenotyping with digital imaging technology. The candidate shall have expertise and experiences with bioinformatics or computational biology (data acquisition, result interpretation, and data visualization) for LC-MS metabolomics experiments and plant stress physiology and molecular techniques.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Crop Science or Plant Biology with experiences and training in plant stress physiology, molecular biology, or biochemistry is required and experiences with microbiology is preferred.
PhD in Functional Genomics with relevant skills is desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an established publication record are expected.
