About our group:

Facilities is part of the People & Places Global group at Seagate Technology, which includes Non-Operations Facilities, Real Estate and Environmental Health and Safety, HR Operations and Global Security. Facilities is responsible for all facets of running a site, including projects, space management, building maintenance, and site services. This team closely interacts with employees, contractors, and other key onsite departments including Security, IT, Human Resources and Environmental Health and Safety, and Media Development.

In this position you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to the Facilities team in various projects and tasks related to site operations, building maintenance, and improvement of a Research & Development and General Administration site located in Fremont, California.

About the role - you will:

  • Support overall project administration for global non-OPs and Real Estate projects.
  • Gather and analyze data, drawings, and reports.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Assist in generating and coordination of Facilities Service Requests, and track to completion.
  • Gain knowledge of the complexity of office and lab space management, building standards, and assist in space allocation reports.
  • Work with the Site Services manager to support onsite services including food service, janitorial, refuse and recycling, landscaping, and more, which includes supplier management, audits, and contract compliance.
  • Engage with the Maintenance engineering team on site equipment specifications related to building infrastructure, efficiency and optimization through the preventative maintenance and work order systems.
  • Compliance of internal Environmental Health and Safety standards.
  • Projects will expose you to a wide set of policies and guidelines set by Seagate.
  • You will gain valuable experience in Facilities management, financial acumen, and program/project management.
  • The position is flexible and specific tasks will depend on the successful applicant's knowledge, skill set, and interests.

About you:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple assignments and competing priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, and materials and equipment product data sheets.

Your experience includes:

  • Project management skills.
  • Proven MS Office and basic statistical analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Facilities Management or a related major


You may also have experience with:



  • Knowledge of the building process and construction principles
  • Familiarity with basic building codes and standards
  • AutoCAD experience creating, managing, and modifying existing files.
  • Ability to perform facility building design calculations.
  • Building Management Systems/Software

The estimated base wage range for this position is $22.50 - $29/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
